Open Translate, enter an English phrase, then create a large Traditional Chinese show card. Apple Translation may ask to download a language pack the first time.

Taiwan HowRU 1.0 supports iPhone on iOS 17 or later. No account, subscription, or in-app purchase is required.
Flash cards
Open Learn → Flash Cards. Tap the speaker or Auto Play to hear the phrase, then swipe up for the next card.
Weather
The app starts with Zhubei, Hsinchu County. Choose another forecast area under Settings → Weather. The app never requests your GPS location.
Optional local AI
Qwen visual-language models are optional and large. Use Wi-Fi and check free storage before downloading. Core travel, translation, and learning features work without them.
Quick troubleshooting
- If audio is silent, raise media volume and check Silent Mode or connected Bluetooth devices.
- If a language pack is unavailable, connect to the internet and retry Apple Translation.
- If weather is stale, pull to refresh and confirm that the device is online.
- If an optional AI model download stops, keep the app open on reliable Wi-Fi and retry.
- To clear local learning progress, use the reset option in Settings.
